Hog Farm residents dammed Buttercup Creek to form Twin Lakes and a park. On May 5, 1972 the Cedar Park Volunteer Fire Department was established and the City of Cedar Park was incorporated on February 24, 1973, after several hundred residents petitioned to incorporate their community.
