We all know the weekend routine: the early Saturday alarms, the strategic packing of coolers, and the mountain of gear that seems to double in size every season. For the sports parent, the car isn't just a vehicle; it is a mobile headquarters. But once you pull off the highway, the destination matters just as much as the game itself.

Here in Cedar Park, we’ve built a community that truly understands the assignment. We’ve blended elite competition venues with incredible family-friendly spaces to ensure that even if the scoreboard doesn't go your way, the weekend is still a win.

The Economic Engine Behind the Game

Youth sports are about more than building character; they are a massive economic powerhouse. Nationally, sports tourism generated over $47.1 billion in direct spending in 2024 alone. It is a recession-resistant industry because, as parents, we consistently prioritize our children’s opportunities and those irreplaceable shared experiences.

Texas is a titan in this space, and right here in Cedar Park, tournaments are driving a phenomenal impact on our local hotels and restaurants. From the upcoming 2026 USA Hockey Hall of Fame Game at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on October 31, set to bring over 7,000 fans to our area, to the new CedarView development featuring a full-service Marriott and convention center opening in 2027, our city is leaning into the future as a must-visit Texas destination.

The Crossover at Cedar Park

Local Facilities: Where Champions are Made

Our city has leveraged the placement of private facilities that act as magnets for major tournaments and specialized training.

  • The Crossover: This 200,000+ square-foot hub welcomes over one million visitors a year. With two NHL ice rinks, sand volleyball, and pickleball, it has elevated Cedar Park into a unique destination for youth hockey and figure skating.

  • Austin Sports Center (ASC): A versatile powerhouse that accommodates everything from massive volleyball tournaments to fencing and MMA across its 20,000-square-foot main floor and new annex.

  • Nitro Swimming: Home to an Olympic-sized 50-meter competition pool, Nitro has been a leader in competitive swimming and high-level instruction since 2007.

  • Tumble Tech and SoccerZone: Whether it is elite training in aerial sports like parkour and gymnastics or year-round indoor leagues for soccer and lacrosse, these facilities ensure our athletes stay engaged and safe.

  • Dribble: For 15 years, Dribble has been a local staple, using proven methodologies to provide elite-level soccer development for players at every stage.

City-Run Parks and Recreation Areas

The secret to a great sports weekend is what happens between the games. Our local Parks and Recreation department provides exceptional outdoor spaces to help the whole family recharge.

  • Lakeline Park: Cedar Park’s newest public park. Phase 1 features 10 acres of athletic fields, a 2.5-mile loop trail, a fishing pier, a universal playground for all abilities, and a kayak and canoe launch with on-site rentals. Once Phase 2 is complete, it will be the city’s largest park at over 200 acres.

  • Elizabeth Milburn Park: This park truly has it all for active families. It boasts a covered basketball court, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, a BMX pump track, and dedicated sports practice fields. In the summer, players can cool off at the 4,500-square-foot aquatics facility, complete with a 120-foot slide.

  • Brushy Creek Sports Park: A long-time favorite for local leagues, this park is equipped with multiple baseball, softball, and soccer/football fields, a basketball court, a 9-hole disc golf course, and the popular Cedar Park Skate Park. The city has also shown dedication to these grounds by undertaking improvement projects to ensure the facilities stay safe and modern.
