Make your trip to Texas unforgettable by planning a fall excursion to the inviting city of Cedar Park.  Only 20 miles north of downtown Austin, experience its charming attractions and spirited seasonal events.  Whether you’re planning to visit the region to attend Austin City Limits Music Festival, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, or simply looking for a scenic autumn getaway, you can experience them all while staying in Cedar Park!

Venture on a Vintage Steam Train

Ride the rails on the Austin Steam Train, traveling in a vintage time capsule for a new and exciting view of scenic Texas Hill Country. September through November, don’t miss out on their signature Hill Country Flyer that traverses over the South San Gabriel River and through Short Creek Canyon toward the neighboring town of Burnet. A two-hour layover gives you the opportunity to explore Burnet for a leisurely time of shopping, dining, and strolling their historic town square.

Every Saturday and Sunday from November 26th until December 18th the time-honored North Pole Flyer is ready to embark on a spirited adventure filled with childhood magic and enchanting surprises. Departure begins from the historic 1912 Bertram Depot and takes you on a delightful two-hour round trip into the wonderful world of Christmas.  Enjoy a Christmas story reading, holiday photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, drink hot cocoa, and munch on locally baked cookies. Santa will be joyfully visiting each train car to hand every special child their very own Christmas gift.

Diverse Entertainment

Cedar Park’s premier multi-use entertainment facility, the H-E-B Center, features over 150 annual events including sport competitions, live music acts, and family-friendly performances. The H-E-B Center is also home to the Texas Stars, the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars developmental affiliate.  Their season runs October through April.

If you’d prefer to be on the ice rather than simply a spectator, you’re going to love year-around ice skating at Ice and Field at The Crossover. Located across the highway from the H-E-B Center, grab a friend and keep cool together sliding around the open rink. This massive facility, spanning more than 200,000 square feet, provides an engaging, comfortable, and climate-controlled destination for ice skaters of all ages. While you are always welcome to skate, the holiday season is the best time to take to the ice for an exciting seasonal activity.

Looking for a more laidback vibe? The Haute Spot is an exciting indoor/outdoor concert venue known for its full calendar of events.  The fall line-up will feature a variety of artists including Vanilla Ice, Coolio, Deana Carter, All 4 One, Diamond Rio, and Hoobastank. Immerse yourself in a riveting night of music along with a full-service restaurant to satisfy your appetite and fully equipped bars to quench your thirst.
