7 of the Best Events in Cedar Park Coming in 2019

Unearth one-of-a-kind crafts in a sprawling market, savor the last days of summer with a fireworks show and wander into a wonderland of jousting knights and costumed children’s storybook characters. These are a few of the experiences that you can have when you visit Cedar Park for its many annual events. Perched on the northern side of the Austin area, we are a family-friendly town that you can stop by at any time of the year. But you won’t want to miss out on 2019’s event schedule, in fact, we’d recommend keeping these highlights them in mind when you plan your visit.

Heritage Festival

April 6

Listen to live music, compete in a washer tournament and soak up the spectacular spring sunshine during our annual Heritage Festival. Uncover unique treasures in the craft market, dig into some great food and enjoy the carnival games and rides. Try your hand at sack races or the corn on the cob eating contest if you’re feeling competitive, then check out the stick-horse rodeo. Bring your kids along and they’ll be playing on the inflatables, making new friends in the petting zoo, riding ponies and getting their faces painted in no time. Held in Milburn Park, this fun-for-all-ages event has something for everyone.

Jazz & Art on Main

May 10 – 11

From its improvised melodies to the rhythmical thumps of a walking bass line, Jazz Music is a true art. Yet, it’s only one of the many kinds of art you can enjoy at Jazz & Art on Main. For two days, the Cedar Park Recreation Center is ground zero for art lovers. Booths featuring works of art in a variety of mediums, such as paintings, sculptures, glassworks and mixed media, provide the perfect complement to all that great Jazz Music. Food vendors will be serving up delicious fare throughout the event, which you can savor as you take in all the spectacular sights and sounds.

Splash Jam

September 1

Celebrate the last days of summer with your family at Splash Jam. Cool off in Milburn Pool from afternoon to evening, then try your luck in the washer tournament before playing games and enjoying carnival rides. Browse the food concessions stands as the kids play on the inflatables, and local bands provide a lively backdrop of sound. It all culminates with an epic fireworks show, an appropriate farewell to summer and a nod to the new school year.

Cedar Bark Festival

October 12

For an awesome day out with you and your best pup, look no further than the Cedar Bark Festival. Pack your pooch up and bring them over to the Cedar Park Bark Park for an afternoon of fun in the sun. Shop for a treat for your pet, enjoy the entertainment and sink your teeth into something tasty for yourself. Then watch, or join, the owner/pet lookalike contest. To really show off, dress your dog up in their finest (or funniest) outfit for the costume contest. Offering plenty of big smiles and wagging tails, the Cedar Bark Festival is a must for dog owners and lovers.

This free indoor and outdoor event is the perfect opportunity for you to shop early for Christmas or  spice up your home with a few new art pieces. The ultimate window shopper’s playground, there’s a vast array of styles and mediums for you to choose from. All the browsing will leave you with an appetite, so pick up something delicious from one of the on-site food vendors. Then get back to shopping, as you’ll surely find something you can’t wait to take home.

Fable Fest

October 26

The tall tales of popular children’s stories come to life every year in Cedar Park during Fable Fest. Jousting knights and costumed characters abound at Milburn Park, creating a wonderland for kids of all ages. Visit the Pig’s Pub for delicious food truck fare, head to the Troubador’s Court for musical performances and story time and shop at the Cobblestone Market. Say howdy to some friendly animals in King’s Carnival’s petting zoo, then end your day with a heart-pounding jousting demonstration by A’Plaisance Jousting. All this storybook excitement will ignite your child’s imagination, and it may even make you feel a bit nostalgic too.

Tree Lighting & Santa’s Workshop

December 6

It’s not the holiday season without Christmas lights, and we take this idea to the next level here in Cedar Park. Bring your family out to Heritage Oak Park for a Texas-sized serving of yuletide joy, starting with the illumination of our massive oak tree with thousands of bright and shining lights. Of course, you can’t leave without finding your way over to Santa’s Workshop, where you’ll hear festive holiday tunes, take a spin on a horse-drawn carriage and get into the holiday spirit with some reindeer games. Even Santa himself will make an appearance, so make sure your kids are ready for their Christmastime photo op.

With a calendar full of family-friendly events, Cedar Park is a year-round destination that has plenty to offer. Plan your next visit here.
